Odisha ikat, in which the yarn is tied and dyed before weaving.
Sambalpuri sarees use bandha — the Odisha ikat technique in which yarn is tied and dyed to the design before it is woven. As with all true ikat the pattern has a characteristic soft edge, because the dye boundary can never be perfectly sharp.
