The house standard
Every product page on this site carries two statements: what the piece is, and what it is not.
What we always state
- Loom type — handloom, power loom or hand-finished
- Fibre content, named honestly. A blend is called a blend.
- Weave tradition, technique and region as three separate facts
- Zari content, described no more precisely than we can verify
- Certification status, including when nothing is held
- Weight in grams, and five behaviour scales comparable across the catalogue
What we never do
- Call a print a weave, or an embroidery a weave
- Infer a Geographical Indication from a weave name
- Invent an artisan, a village or a family history
- Publish a review we did not receive
Every line of this is stored as a structured field in our catalogue, and published identically on the page, in the structured data search engines read, and in our public product feed. If we cannot verify a claim, we do not make it.
